I felt it would be fun to make a study of every Zelda character once in awhile, both canon and OC that I have drawn or will come to draw in my series and maybe shed light as to why I chose their designs.

Full name and other titles: Stalfos Warrior
Appearances: Nearly every Zelda game (canon), The Fallen Sage, Time's Menagerie (non-canon)
Design Notes: Ahhhh the undead.... Besides vampires, werewolves, and arrogant dragons, the undead and reanimated are probably the most overused and beaten to death (no pun intended) enemy in the fantasy genre. They are virtually in every fantasy game I can think of for cripe's sake. The Legend of Zelda sadly also uses them to a high degree... so I suppose they are a necessary evil. There's nothing really special about my design for them, at least the Hylian variations. It's a skeleton with armor... woooo big deal. That's probably my biggest problem with the undead, it's really hard to make something original out of them. No matter what, a skeleton is going to look like a skeleton, and a zombie is going to look like a zombie.

Actually I've wondered wondered this. I always thought that Stalfos were like the undead zombies of the Hyrule's Mythos.
Yet some people consider them to be a species of creature, and when they mate, they create Stalchild's or something. I find that kind of... goofy.
